World renowned astronomer and author Bob Berman explores the five celestial spectacles naturalists rate as the most visually amazing – four of which will soon appear over our region, including the rare astounding total solar eclipse a few months from now. 

Most of this non-technical program will be accessible to all ages from six through adult. It will include tips on maximizing our already-unpolluted nighttime experience, a quick primer on avoiding traps when buying binoculars or small telescopes, and how simple sky-observations without knowledge of constellations support some of the most mind-stretching areas of astronomy, such as the nature of the two universes in which we are embedded and the intimate way our own human awareness is correlative with the cosmos.
