Tell the stories you’ve always wanted to tell. Dakota Lane will present a series of workshops to improve your creative writing. Students can sign up for all six or for the first three at the West Hurley Library or the second three at the Hurley Library. Because of the small size of the classes, please be serious about making a commitment. These classes are funded by a New York State Grant, the Town of Hurley, the Hurley Library, and the West Hurley Library.

March 14—Your real story. Whether it's fiction or creative memoir, how do you access the strongest, juiciest stories, and the stories you most want to tell?  You'll learn three powerful ways to access your authentic voice.
March 21—Using your every day world to infuse your work with new life. Dialogue, setting and believable characters. How to see your ordinary daily experiences with a writer's eyes.
March 28—Stephen King's approach to plot.  You'll learn about  pacing and drama and how to keep your readers interested.
